WVB | Kodiaks fall in five to Lions
The Kodiaks women's volleyball team came close but fell in five sets to the Ambrose Lions on Friday.
Jan. 30, 2020 - While it may be a case of too little too late, the Lethbridge College Kodiaks women's team is still showing great improvment every time they hit the floor.
Determined for a bounce back after a straight sets loss to Ambrose on Thursday night, the Kodiaks pushed the Lions to five sets in the rematch on Friday, before ultimately falling.
The teams split the first two games before Ambrose pulled ahead 2-1 with a decisive third set victory. The Kodiaks refused to fold, however, forcing a fifth set with a dramatic 26-24 set four win.
The Lions then blitzed the visitors in the final frame, securing a 15-5 win to take the match.
Lethbridge (4-14) has been eliminated from playoff contention and will now prepare to take on Highway 3 rival Medicine Hat College in a home-and-home series starting this Friday in Lethbridge. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
