WSOC | Kodiaks excited to add goalkeeper Krowchuk
Head coach Sean Carey is excited to announce the addition of goalkeeper Brooke Krowchuk.
April 28, 2022 – Lethbridge College Kodiaks women’s soccer head coach Sean Carey is excited to announce the addition of goalkeeper Brooke Krowchuk to his 2022 recruiting class.
Krowchuk, who is a product of the Cochrane Minor Soccer program, will join the Kodiaks after graduating from Crescent Heights High School in Calgary this spring.
Carey says he’s excited to add depth and talent at a very important position. With her skillset and confident attitude, Carey believes Krowchuk has the potential to be an impact player in the Kodiaks net for years to come.
“I’m extremely excited to add Brooke to our program,” says Carey. “I really like Brooke’s all-around game in goal and I really believe she will grow into a huge player in this league. She is such a confident goalie as well as person, which is so important at this level. Now it’s just working on some of the fundamentals and Brooke will be an important part of the Kodiaks for years to come.”
For Krowchuk, committing to attend Lethbridge College represents the realization of two dreams: playing post-secondary soccer, as well as following in her parent’s footsteps while pursuing a career as a police officer.
“I’m just so excited to play post-secondary soccer,” says Krowchuk. “It’s crazy because I never thought that I would be able to get to this level, so I’m super excited for that. Plus I’ve wanted to be a police officer since the dawn of time, so going into the Criminal Justice Policing program is super exciting as I will get to follow my parent’s paths.”
Krowchuk says her strengths in net include being able to read the game at a high level and moving the ball effectively.
“I’m confident at reading plays and I also take pride in working on my angles and distribution.”
Krowchuk is thankful for the many coaches and teammates who have helped her get to where she is today.
“One of my teammates is Hannah Tas, her and her family have really helped me to get to where I am and we definitely have built a friendship over the years. I’d also like to thank coach John Castrillon, since he’s the coach who made me who I am today.”
The Kodiaks women’s soccer team is coming off a second-place finish in the ACAC south division and will begin their 2022 schedule in early September.
