The Kodiaks women’s soccer team is aiming to close out the regular season on a strong note this weekend. This will be a good look at the high-calibre competition they will face in championships next week as SAIT sits as the No. 1 seed in the South Division. The Kodiaks will look to build on their offensive momentum from their last match, where they netted six goals against Olds College. On the defensive side, the team will lean on goalkeeper and Kodiaks Athlete of the Week Paityn Lake (first year, Business Administration – Accounting, Nelson, B.C.) to maintain her high level of play.
During Sunday’s home game, the Kodiaks will honour their senior student-athletes: Megan Morrison (fifth year, Bachelor of Nursing, Medicine Hat); Ana Waurynchuk (fifth year, Interior Design Technology, Cranbrook, B.C.); Jayna Timinski (fifth year, Child and Youth Care, Calgary); and Samantha Demchuck (fifth year, Bachelor of Nursing, Whitehorse).
MSOC Kodiaks (2-4-3) vs SAIT (7-1)
Saturday, Oct. 18 | 2:15 p.m.
The Kodiaks men’s soccer team will close out the regular season this weekend against a top-ranked opponent. SAIT currently sits second in the South Division and features a strong offensive attack. To counter, the Kodiaks will look to threats like Moe Huska (first year, General Arts and Science – Kinesiology Certificate, Cranbrook, B.C.), who was recently named Kodiaks Athlete of the Week.
