Oikawa and Stewart named Moxies Kodiaks Student-Athletes of the Month for March!

Hana Oikawa (first year, Environmental Assessment and Restoration, Lethbridge) had an impressive month of March. At the ACAC/Running Room Grand Prix #3, she earned 4th place in both the women’s 60m and 300m events, showcasing her strength in sprints and middle-distance races. Oikawa also played a crucial role in helping both the 4x200m and 4x400m relay teams secure first-place finishes. At the ACAC Indoor Track Championships, she finished 4th in the 300m dash and 8th in the 60m dash. Her relay teams continued their success, finishing 3rd in both the 4x200m and 4x400m relays, contributing to her team’s overall bronze medal at the championships.

Owen Stewart (third year, Business Administration – Accounting, Lethbridge) had a standout month of March, earning two Kodiaks Athlete of the Week honors and one ACAC Athlete of the Week recognition for his exceptional performances. At the ACAC Indoor Track Championships, Stewart was named ACAC Men’s Runner of the Year and earned a spot on the ACAC All-Conference team. He claimed first place in both the 600m and 4x400m relay, and second place in the 1000m, showcasing his versatility and skill. As the highest scorer for the men’s team, Stewart’s contributions helped secure a silver medal finish for the team at the championships.
