The Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks cross-country teams are gearing up for a thrilling season competing in four out of five Running Room Grand Prix events starting on Sept. 7.
The Kodiaks and the Alberta Colleges Athletic Association (ACAC) released an action-packed schedule, which has the teams racing first at Concordia University of Edmonton.
The conference will then head to Lethbridge on Sept. 21, when the Kodiaks host the third Grand Prix at Nicholas Sheran Park. In addition to their own races, the student-athletes will also host the annual Run for the Pumpkin event, an anticipated gathering for cross-country enthusiasts of all ages throughout the community.
The fourth Grand Prix race of the season on Sept. 28 will offer the Kodiaks a preview of the ACAC championship course when they travel to St. Mary’s University in Calgary. After two weeks of rest, the fifth and final Grand Prix will be hosted by the University of Alberta – Augustana on Oct. 12 in Camrose.
The season reaches its peak at the ACAC Cross-Country Championships, which will be hosted by St. Mary’s University Oct. 26 in Calgary. The Kodiaks will compete for top honours and aim to secure a spot at the 2024 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) national championship hosted by St. Clair College on Nov. 8 and 9 in Windsor, Ont.
