On Friday, the Kodiaks men’s basketball host an exhibition game against St. Mary’s University Lightning at Raymond High School.
The next day Kodiaks cross-country will be competing in its first race of the year, Running Room Grand Prix #2 hosted by SAIT Polytechnic, at West Confederation Park, Calgary.
The weekend lineup ends with both Kodiaks soccer teams looking to continue their perfect record of 2-0-0 as they play the Ambrose University Lions on the Lions home turf.
Men’s Basketball
· Friday, Sept. 15 | 7 p.m. at Raymond High School
This will be both teams first exhibition game of the 2023-24 season. Last time the teams met was in the ACAC semi-finals.
Men’s and Women’s Cross-country Running
· Saturday, Sept. 16 | hosted by SAIT Polytechnic
The Kodiaks cross-country student-athletes are back in competition! The men’s and women’s team have picked up more fresh legs for the new season which will be guided by some key returners.
While the Kodiaks team will race this year without Cooper Williams, who was awarded ACAC Rookie of the year, they have added more promising student-athletes to its roster.
The team will be led by Justin Fisher (fourth year, Nursing Bachelors Degree, Claresholm) and Hannah Smith (second year, Exercise Science, Raymond) who will be stepping into a bigger role this year as a captain.

Kodiaks (2-0-0) vs Ambrose University Lions (0-0-2)
· Sunday, Sept. 17 | 12 p.m. at Ambrose (Ernest Manning Field)
Kodiaks women’s soccer is coming off an impressive home opening weekend where they took down the defending ACAC champions Red Deer Polytechnic Queens and carried its momentum into the next day beating the Olds College Broncos. These results earned them a number eight spot on the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association women’s soccer rankings.
Nikki Stahl (fifth year, Unit Clerk, Lethbridge) is proving early that she is one of the ACAC key players to look out for. She was honoured player of the game in the match between the RDP Queens, earned the Kodiaks Student-Athlete of the Week, ACAC athlete of the week and CCAA Female Athlete of the Week.

The men’s soccer team is looking to carry its momentum from last week’s wins into its game against the Lions. It is shaping up to be an intense game as it’s part of the Lions home-opening weekend lineup.
First year, Jake Marshall (first year, General Studies, Nelson B.C.) made a name for himself as he was honoured Player of the Game against Red Deer Polytechnic and Kodiaks Student-Athlete of the Week.
