Cross-country travels to Camrose tomorrow to compete in their last regular season Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Grand Prix race hosted by University of Alberta - Augustana.
Kodiaks soccer has a weekend lineup away from home, competing against Red Deer Polytechnic tomorrow followed by Olds College on Sunday.
Cross-country
Saturday, Oct. 12 hosted by UAA | ACAC Running Room Grand Prix #5
The Kodiaks cross-country team will get one last race in and a look at their competition before championships in two weeks.
The women’s team has been battling with the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens all season long for the first-place spot in the team category. Last Grand Prix, the Kodiaks edged out the Queens by six points to take first. In that same event, Hannah Pilling (first year, Academic Upgrading, Cardston), led the pack with a time of 25:00.
The men’s team has been led by Owen Stewart (third year, Business Administration – Accounting, Lethbridge) and Ethan Grasmeyer (second year, Natural Resource Compliance, Smithers, BC). The team will be looking to better their times this weekend and keep chipping away towards a team win.

The Kodiaks women’s soccer team looks to continue their three-game winning streak this weekend. They have been on an upward path ever since the half-way point of the season. Both Megan Morrison (fourth year, Bachelor of Nursing, Medicine Hat) and Kyra Piekema (second year, General Arts and Science, Lethbridge) climbed the leader board to rank fifth in goals and assists.

It’s a big weekend for the Kodiaks men’s soccer team as they go up against the nationally ranked Red Deer Kings, who they tied with earlier in the season, and Olds College who they beat by a goal in the 87th minute. These games will be huge factors for playoff positioning. Wilson Ntignee (fifth year, Business Administration, Bori, Nigeria) has had a significant impact on the team this year as he is currently third in the league for overall points and fifth in the league for goals.
