WFUT | Kodiaks (6-4) | ACAC Championships hosted by Lakeland College Rustlers
- Friday, March 7 | 2:15 p.m. | vs. Keyano College Huskies (6-2-2)
- Saturday, March 8 | 12:45 p.m. | vs. SAIT Trojans (10-0)
- Sunday, March 9 | TDB
The Kodiaks women’s futsal team enters this tournament as the third-ranked seed from the South, positioning them in the same pool and up against the second-ranked team from the North, the Keyano College Huskies, and the first-place team from the South, the SAIT Trojans. They face a challenging but not impossible path to claiming an ACAC banner. The top teams advance to the semifinals on Sunday, while the second- and third-placed teams from each group will compete in the quarterfinals on Saturday evening.
The Kodiaks will need to come out firing on all cylinders, as futsal is a high-speed, high-scoring game where every moment counts. Kodiaks captain and team-leading scorer Gracee Valgardson (second year, General Arts and Science, Lethbridge) has had an impressive run this season within the ACAC. She leads by example and constantly motivates her team in difficult situations. On the defensive end, Kodiaks goalkeeper, Kiara Jankowiak (second year, General Arts and Science, Lethbridge) has been a standout between the posts. She can read the shooters and block shots to keep the Kodiaks competitive.
