Sept. 19, 2023 - As the Lethbridge College Kodiaks women's volleyball team prepares for the upcoming season, they are thrilled to announce the addition of a Libero, Quincy Price.
Price, originally form Coaldale, will be staying local to the area as she will be taking General Arts & Science. She already has connections with the Kodiaks as her club team, Panthers Volleyball Club, has had or currently has alumni in the Kodiaks program.
Anna Schwark, the head coach of Kodiaks women’s volleyball, had the privilege of scouting Price during her final season with her club team. Schwark's early assessment has left her impressed with Price's potential for rapid growth in just one season.
“Quincy just gets the job done. She takes the game seriously and just works hard, that consistency is really important for the whole system to function as we want it to,” says Schwark. “She’s super quick and able to make some defensive plays that I think a lot of other liberos can’t do.”
Schwark understands the routine at the start of the year that teams have preseason jitters that will go away with experience. She believes Price will be very reliable in the backrow come competition time.
Price, eager to further develop her skills, expresses her enthusiasm for the upcoming season. “I hope to bring energy, a positive attitude and just have a fun time.”
Price brings a lot of skills to the team including consistency in the backrow that we need to stay in system and keep rallies going.
The first home game of the season is against Ambrose University Lions set for 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, in the Val Matteotti Gymnasium. Get more details at gokodiaks.ca.
