Assistant Coach

Bio

Taren Hayward is in her fourth season as an assistant coach with the Kodiaks track & field program, bringing strong technical knowledge and a lifelong passion for the sport. Prior to joining the Kodiaks, she coached with the Lethbridge Track and Field Club, supporting the development of local athletes across various disciplines.

A former NCAA Division I athlete, Hayward competed for the California State University Northridge track & field team while earning her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Originally from Lethbridge, Alberta, she has returned to her hometown where she now also teaches sessional classes in the Engineering Department at Lethbridge College.

With both international athletic experience and deep community roots, Hayward adds a valuable blend of expertise and hometown pride to the Kodiaks coaching staff.
