Versatile centre-back brings playoff experience to Kodiaks men’s soccer
The Kodiaks men’s soccer team adds the experience and talent of Jordan Morello for the upcoming season.
The Lethbridge College Kodiaks men’s soccer team adds the experience and talent of Jordan Morello for the upcoming season. Morello played his first two years in the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) with the Pilots of Providence University College and Theological Seminary in Otterburne, Man.
Morello brings a wealth of playoff experience as the past year the Pilots competed in the post-season for two conferences: MCAC and the National Christian College Athletic Association.
Growing up in Nelson, B.C. and going through the Whitecaps program, Morello is no stranger to the Kodiaks, having already known Jacob Marshall, Ryder Skolka and Brandon Francis.
“I was looking for a little bit more of a change in academics and I had some people here that were teammates and friends,” says Morello. “They very highly recommended the Kodiaks, as did my academy coaches from the Whitecaps.”
Morello is set to join the team and start in the Business Administration program in the fall. He will be coming in as a centre-back for the Kodiaks but he is a versatile player who can transition to play full-back.
“He’s an aggressive player with quick ball movement,” says Kodiaks head coach Sean Carey. “He’s also very talkative which is very important on our team especially if he is going to lead from the back.”
Carey believes that his assistant coach Dave Low and Kodiaks alumni will work well with developing Morello’s skills. “This is going to be one of those players I can see Low just take under his wing and modelling him the same way he played.”
Kodiaks coaches actively recruit high school athletes around Alberta and neighbouring provinces. If one of the Kodiaks coaches hasn’t spoken to you yet, don’t worry. Simply fill out the recruitment form (gokodiaks.ca/recruitment), and they would be pleased to learn more about you.
