Kodiaks men’s soccer continues family tradition with signing of Dante Dudas

The Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks men’s soccer team is excited to announce the signing of local player Dante Dudas.
Dudas played for Lethbridge Football Club (LFC) and graduated from Catholic Central High School. He has enrolled in General Arts and Science – Sociology and Psychology in hopes to become a sports psychologist in the future.
“The biggest thing was that I could stay in my hometown and a good majority of players from my youth soccer teams were playing as well,” says Dudas. “Playing soccer in the men’s program here at the polytechnic has been a long tradition for my family members so I figured I should keep that going.”
Dudas is related to the Pasquotti family and has three cousins who played for the Kodiaks men’s soccer team: Nico Pasquotti (2013, 2015) was named Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference and Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association men’s soccer player of the year in 2015; Dario Pasquotti (2013, 2015) and Matteo Pasquotti (2013, 2017-18)
“Dante is another LFC prodigy,” says Kodiaks soccer head coach Sean Carey. “He's physical and gives a lot of energy to the team. He’s a versatile player as he can play right back, left back or winger.”
Dudas reached out to Carey, who invited him to open sessions with the team. He was able to showcase his skills and personality, convincing Carey he would be a good fit with the team.
“As soon as I met the boys and coaching staff, I knew I made the right decision,” says Dudas. “I’m excited to play the game I love and grow a better connection with all the boys playing alongside me.”
The Kodiaks first games are away at 2 p.m. Sept. 7 versus the Ambrose University Lions. The following day, Sept. 8, they play their home opener against the SAIT Trojans kicking off at 2 p.m. at the Servus Centre Outdoor Field.
