Kodiaks to participate in Super Smash Bros esports event
The Kodiaks are set to continue their venture into sports.
Nov. 3, 2020 - Lethbridge College students - be ready to enter the Alberta Collegiate Smash!
The Kodiaks are taking part in the first ever eSports virtual event conducted by the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC). On Nov. 21, the ACAC will host a one-day tournament pitting competitors from across the province in a heated battle of Super Smash Brothers Ultimate (Nintendo Switch). The event will be presented in conjunction with the Alberta Esports Association (AESA), a non-profit organization dedicated towards fostering the growth and development of esports within Alberta.
All Lethbridge College students enrolled in nine credits this semester are eligible to enter for free. Players can register by the deadline of Nov. 18 here.

Schedule - Nov. 21
2 PM - Opening Ceremony
2 PM - Round Robin Pools (Groups Stage)
3:30 PM - Concordia vs NAIT Exhibition
4:30 PM - Top Eight
How to register (date to register by):

Players must be a full time student registered in at least nine credits.

ï‚· There is a zero tolerance policy with negative behavior. Any instances of bullying, hate speech, name calling, and general inappropriate behavior will result in a DQ.
Connection Rules
ï‚· It is required to play on a LAN connection. Wi-fi may result in unplayable connections.
ï‚· Smash.gg will announce which player will host. If there are connection issues, try swapping hosts. If the issue is not resolved, request a mod to contact a TO.
ï‚· If you have consistently bad or unplayable connection, you will be DQ'd at the sole discretion of the TOs.
ï‚· If a player disconnects they will forfeit the game. If a player disconnects maliciously, they will forfeit the set and will be DQd.
ï‚· If a player is requesting for a delay, contact a TO immediately. If both players have checked in and a match has not started after 10 minutes has elapsed, the defender will be DQd.
Game Rules

ï‚· Best of 3 games per set.
ï‚· Best of 5 games per set (Losers, Winners, Grand Finals).
ï‚· 3 Stocks, 7 Minutes.
ï‚· Items and pause are disabled.
ï‚· Accidental pausing results in a forfeit of a stock.
ï‚· Players strike (P1, P2, P2, P1) or agree on the first stage.
ï‚· Loser selects stage, winner selects character, loser selects character.
ï‚· You may not choose any stage you previously won on, unless agreed upon.
ï‚· You may not play on a stage that is not on the legal stage list.
ï‚· All Mii Fighters and Custom Moves are legal.
ï‚· Neutral: Battlefield, Final Destination, Town & City, Pokemon Stadium 2, Smashville (All FD and BF variants can be used)
