Timinski, Veluw and Men's Indoor Track Named Athletes of the Week

Mar. 30, 2022 - These athletes came in clutch for each of their ACAC Championships last weekend in Edmonton. Congratulations to Jayna Timinski (WFUT), Jaden Veluw (MFUT) and the Men’s Indoor Track team for being named Mucho Burrito Athletes of the Week!

Jayna Timinski (WFUT)

Jayna (first year, Multimedia production, Calgary) was a force for the Kodiaks women’s futsal team, scoring three goals over the weekend while adding numerous assists. The rookie was named an ACAC Championships All-Star for her consistently strong performances, helping the Kodiaks claim a bronze medal.

Jaden Veluw (MFUT)

Jaden (fifth year, Nursing, Lethbridge) capped off his Kodiaks career in style, scoring an incredible nine goals in four games – including four in the bronze medal game. With the Kodiaks on the brink of defeat, Jaden scored the game tying goal with just 45 seconds left to send the bronze medal game to overtime. The ACAC Championships All-Star added two more goals in extra time to help the Kodiaks come home with some hardware.

Men’s Indoor Track Team

The Kodiaks men’s indoor track team had many great individual and team performances at the 2022 ACAC Indoor Track Championships in Edmonton. The team finished third in the overall team standings on the strength of great performances in the relay events, with Aden Germain, Gunnarr Gibb, Logan Danyluk and Jack Bentley grabbing silver medals in the 4x200m and 4x400 m events. Aden also added an individual bronze in the men’s 300m dash.
