Lewicki and Paxman-Viani named AOTW
Big moments call for big players, and two Kodiaks in particular stood up to lead their team to success.
Feb. 28, 2023 – It was a tournament heavy weekend for the Kodiaks as championships and regionals were taking place all over the province. Big moments call for big players, and two Kodiaks in particular stood up to lead their team to success.
Mack Lewicki (fifth year, open studies, Taber) was a large part of the Kodiaks historic championship run this past weekend. In their semi-final game, she dominated the court with 16 kills, 16 digs, and two service aces, earning her ACAC player of the game honours. Her impressive performance did not go unnoticed as she was also named to the all-tournament team.
Kyeler Paxman-Viani (second year, General Studies, Lethbridge) was a huge force in the Kodiaks men’s team this weekend. Kyeler scored a hat trick against Medicine Hat in the Kodiaks opener to get them off to a solid start. He then finished the weekend off by scoring two goals to pull off an incredible 4-4 tie against the previously undefeated SAIT Trojans, cementing the team a spot at next week’s ACAC championships.
Canadian Brewhouse is proud to sponsor the Kodiaks Athletes of the Week. Congrats to Mack and Kyeler on their selections!
