Wickstrom and Tollestrup Canadian Brewhouse Kodiaks student-athletes of the week

Aideena Wickstrom (fifth year, Exercise Science, Coaldale) put on an unforgettable performance, leading the women's volleyball team to a stunning upset over the No. 7 nationally ranked Ambrose University Lions on Friday night. Wickstrom was the driving force behind the team’s three-set sweep, earning Player of the Game honors after recording 14 points, five digs, three assists, three blocks, and one ace. On Saturday, the team put up a hard-fought battle, where Wickstrom made another significant impact, contributing nine kills, seven digs, and four blocks in the match. Her exceptional performances throughout the weekend were a testament to her skill and determination, solidifying her as one of the most influential players on the court.

Cody Tollestrup (second year, General Arts and Science, Magrath) was a key player in helping the men’s basketball team clinch a playoff spot this past weekend, delivering standout performances in both games. On Friday night at Ambrose, Tollestrup played a vital role in the Kodiaks' dominant 109-80 victory, contributing 12 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals. His all-around performance set the tone for the weekend as the following night in Lethbridge, Tollestrup earned Player of the Game honors after posting an impressive 23 points and 13 rebounds in a 103-78 victory. With several key players battling injuries, Tollestrup has stepped up when the team needed him most, proving to be an unstoppable force inside the paint and a true leader for the Kodiaks.
