Wickstrom and Lake Canadian Brewhouse Kodiaks student-athletes of the week

Aideena Wickstrom (fifth year, Exercise Science, Coaldale) played a pivotal role in the women’s volleyball team’s back-to-back matchups against the No. 8 nationally ranked Red Deer Polytechnic Queens. Over the two games, Wickstrom delivered an outstanding performance, on Friday, she notched 14 kills, one ace, five digs, and one block, while on Saturday, she followed up with an impressive 20 kills, seven digs, and four blocks. Her exceptional play earned her the ACAC Player of the Match on Saturday. In both the five-set and four-set contests, Wickstrom proved to be a true leader, motivating her teammates and driving the team’s competitive play.

Cole Lake (fourth year, Business Administration, Eagle, Idaho) proved to be a key player in the men’s basketball team’s back-to-back wins over Red Deer Polytechnic, helping the Kodiaks move to 7-4 in the tight South Division standings. In Friday's thrilling 92-91 victory, Lake was named ACAC Player of the Game for his outstanding performance. Over the two games, Lake logged an impressive 78 minutes of playing time, showcasing his leadership and stability on the court. He effectively quarterbacked the offense, contributing 20 points, several assists, and key steals. His defensive impact was just as crucial, playing a key role in solidifying the team’s performances.
