Sept. 19, 2023 – It was the start of the season for men’s and women’s cross-country in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) this past weekend. Kodiaks cross-country was able to make their presence known after missing the first Grand Prix. Two new additions to the team emerged as leaders throughout the race day.
Katrina Michel (first year, Practical Nursing, Okotoks, Alta.) made her ACAC debut over the weekend. She secured the highest placement for the women’s team, finishing fourth overall with a time of 26:21. Her performance contributed to her team's third-place finish, marking a two-spot improvement from last year's results.
Owen Stewart (second year, General Studies, Lethbridge) participated in his first ACAC cross-country event. He claimed the fourth position overall in the ACAC with a time of 28:38, achieving the highest rank among Kodiaks male runners. His efforts played a crucial role in his team's second-place finish in the men's competition.
