Demchuk and Jankowiak Canadian Brewhouse Kodiaks student-athletes of the week

Canadian Brewhouse is proud to sponsor the Kodiaks Student-Athletes of the Week. Congrats to Sammy and Kiara on their selections!  

Sammy Demchuk (fourth year, Bachelor of Nursing, Whitehorse) was a standout performer for the Kodiaks women’s futsal team at the ACAC championships this past weekend. Facing relentless offensive pressure from the top-ranked SAIT Trojans, Demchuk delivered a remarkable performance in goal, making several key saves to keep her team in contention. Her composure and shot-stopping ability were on full display as she held the Trojans to just one goal in the first half before they eventually pulled away. Her efforts earned her Player of the Game honours.

Kiara Jankowiak (second year, General Arts and Science, Lethbridge) played a crucial role in the Kodiaks' opening victory over the Keyano College Huskies at the ACAC championships. Anchoring the defence with confidence, Jankowiak’s quick reflexes and strong positioning helped secure a hard-fought 4-3 win over the Huskies, earning her Player of the Game recognition. Jankowiak’s strong play in net was a key factor in the Kodiaks' ability to compete against tough competition throughout the weekend.
