Taryn Bach (fourth year, Open Studies, Lethbridge) delivered an outstanding performance in the women’s volleyball team’s weekend showdown with the top-ranked Briercrest Clippers, the No. 1 team in the South. On Friday, Bach earned Player of the Game honours on her senior night. She racked up 34 assists, one ace and some digs, controlling the flow of the match with her exceptional pace and placement. On Saturday, the team bounced back to end their season with a win, Bach was once again a standout, contributing 27 assists, six digs, one ace and one block. Her consistency and skill in running the offense were evident both nights, as she maintained exceptional control over the game. Bach’s performance throughout the weekend highlighted her leadership and versatility on the court.
Ethan Grasmeyer (second year, Natural Resource Compliance, Smithers, B.C.) had an impressive performance in his first indoor track race of the season, building on the success of his previous year, Grasmeyer earned his first career Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference victory in the 3000m, crossing the finish line with a time of 9:28.38. He also helped secure a win in the 4x200m relay, where his team clocked a time of 1:37.19. Grasmeyer’s strong start to the season, highlighted by his endurance and team contributions sets the bar high for the rest of the indoor track campaign.
