Halle Aleman (first year, Open Studies, Lethbridge) of the women’s basketball team has been named Kodiaks Student-Athlete of the Month for her exceptional performances and contributions on the court throughout January. She has stepped up and took a huge leadership role within the team coming into the new year and is thriving. She is leading the team in minutes played and has proven to be an offensive force, shooting 40.9% from the field and 79.5% from the free-throw line. Aleman’s overall play has been exceptional; she also pulled down 67 rebounds, made 28 assists, and recorded 33 steals. Her consistent effort on both ends of the floor have been key to the team’s success and makes her a valuable asset.
Nolan Moes (fifth year, Natural Resources Compliance, Barrhead, Alta.) of the men’s volleyball team has been named Kodiaks Student-Athlete of the Month for his exceptional performances in January. He has been a standout player, ranking top four in the conference for kills per set, overall kills, hitting percentage, and total points. With 208 kills on the season, Nolan has been a consistent offensive powerhouse, averaging 3.78 kills per set, posting an impressive hitting percentage of .574, and contributing 251 points overall. In addition to his offensive contributions, he has played a key role defensively, recording 44 digs and 16 blocks. Nolan's overall performance, leadership, and commitment to both offense and defense have been crucial to the team’s success.
