March 17, 2023 – The Kodiaks indoor track teams are heading to Edmonton this weekend with confidence as they race in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) championships. The athletes are eager to showcase their skills on the big stage against the best in the conference.

The Kodiaks women's team enters championship as the fifth seed. Recently the team hosted an exhibition time trial meet against the Medicine Hat Rattlers. The team has been hard at work, recently hosting an exhibition time trial meet against the Medicine Hat Rattlers. Maria Boix Frias (second year, Massage Therapy, Banyoles, Spain) made an impressive showing against the Rattlers, delivering exceptional times in both the 1000m and 600m events. In addition, the relay teams put in some valuable practice on their exchanges and are eager to take on the Rattlers once again at the upcoming meet, seeking to avenge their previous performance.

The men's team enters the tournament as the second-ranked team and are determined to maintain their impressive performances. Cooper Williams (first year, Wind Turbine Technician, Cardston) has been a standout athlete this season, shattering school records in the 1500m and 3000m events. Meanwhile, Gunnar Gibb (second year, Exercise Science, Cardston) has also left a mark, having set a new school record for the 300m and playing a vital role in the relay team that broke the school and ACAC 4x200m relay.
