- Friday, Feb. 7 | 6 p.m. | Val Matteotti Gymnasium
- Saturday, Feb. 8 | 6 p.m. | Ambrose University
The Kodiaks women’s volleyball team has a tough weekend line up as they take on the No. 1 seed in the south, the Ambrose University Lions. Throughout the season the Kodiaks women’s team has consistently stepped up their play against higher ranked teams. The Kodiaks can’t be counted out as a tough competitor and it’s because of players like Robyn Austin (first year, Business Administration – Accounting, Lethbridge). She is not afraid to take big swings on the court and is in the top five of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference’s (ACAC) first-year athletes based on points per game. To play up to the Lion’s level, Quincy Price (second year, General Arts and Science, Coaldale) will need to take control of the floor during serve receive as she currently leads the team with passes off serves.
MVB | Kodiaks (13-2) vs Ambrose University Lions (6-11)
- Friday, Feb. 7 | 8 p.m. | Val Matteotti Gymnasium
- Saturday, Feb. 8 | 8 p.m. | Ambrose University
The Kodiaks men’s volleyball is coming off two wins over Olds College that helped them clinch a playoff spot for this year’s ACAC volleyball championship. As momentum is high for this team, they need to stay focused when they face the Ambrose University Lions. Kodiaks setter Ben St. Pierre (fourth year, Open Studies, Red Deer) has done an excellent job spreading out the offence and providing his hitters better attacking opportunities. He sits eighth overall for total assists on the season. Both fifth-year pin hitters Ethan Nashim (fifth year, Open Studies, Lac La Biche, Alta.) and Nolan Moes (fifth year, Natural Resources Compliance, Barrhead, Alta.) sit two and three, respectively, in the conference for their hitting percentage.
Basketball: Games can be watched live on TELUS channel 1998 or ACACTV.

- Saturday, Feb. 8 | 6 p.m. | Val Matteotti Gymnasium
The Kodiaks women’s basketball team takes on the Ambrose University Lions in back-to-back games this weekend. The Kodiaks sit just ahead of the Lions in the ACAC standings and will look to grow their winning record. The Kodiaks are coming from a tough weekend, having lost to the nationally ranked St. Mary’s University Lightning and are hoping to bounce back in these games. First-year student-athletes Bailey Blackmore (first year, Bachelor of Nursing, Magrath) and Halle Aleman (first year, Open Studies, Lethbridge) have been key for the Kodiaks offence as the team’s top shooters. The two are also racking up the most time on the floor making them valuable contributors to the team’s success. Their strong performances, both in scoring and stamina, demonstrate their ability to handle the pressure of high-intensity games, making them central to the Kodiaks' offensive strategy.
Kodiaks women’s basketball senior athletes, Courtney Deemter (fourth year, Bachelor of Nursing, Calgary) and Annah Westrop (fourth year, General Arts and Science, Lethbridge), will be honoured following the women’s game on Saturday evening.
MBB | Kodiaks (11-6) vs Ambrose University Lions (2-15)
- Friday, Feb. 7 | 8 p.m. | Ambrose University
- Saturday, Feb. 8 | 8 p.m. | Val Matteotti Gymnasium
The Kodiaks men’s basketball team is on the verge of clinching a spot in the post season making these next two games against Ambrose crucial. The team is coming off last weekend’s split against the nationally ranked St. Mary’s University squad. The Kodiaks will need to keep the same intensity they had in their last game as they match up against the Ambrose University Lions. Ryan Degner (fourth year, Open Studies, Lethbridge) has been a key factor for this team offensively as he is able to convert on easy baskets and provide opportunities for his teammates. Another heavy hitter for the Kodiaks has been Treydon Barton (third year, General Arts and Science, Raymond) as he leads the team in points overall with 194 on the season.
