Feb. 14, 2024 - Kodiaks Men’s Volleyball is excited to announce the commitment of Brady Ewart for the 2024-2025 recruiting cycle. He’s a multi-positional athlete that brings experience to the Kodiaks in both the setting and libero position.
Ewart is a highly decorated athlete from Saskatchewan, he has represented his province multiple times in Canada Cup competition (the Canada Cup represents the best athletes from each province competing against each other), including his award as one of the 7 tournament all-stars in 2023.
“Brady comes as arguably one of the best libero/setter prospects in the country this year in my opinion. Brady processes two key traits that we know are going to allow him to be successful at the next level. He is such a student of the game and has a constant desire to not only better himself but his teammates. Brady is an athlete who is like having another coach on the floor as he can solve problems, address what our opponents are doing, and truly engage his teammates in the collective process.”
The main reasons for his decision to join the Kodiaks programs is volleyball pillars that have been created and the passion of the team. “I like the fact that the program has been very competitive in a tough ACAC conference the past six seasons,” says Ewart. “My visit to Lethbridge was good, and the smaller college atmosphere mixed with high level facilities seemed like a good fit.”
Brady comes from a supportive volleyball background, and knows his father had a major influence on his progression. “The biggest influence in my life is likely my dad, he is a long-time volleyball coach and started me very early in the sport,” says Ewart. “I am a coach’s son. I am committed, hard-working, and detail oriented just like my dad.”
Ewart will enroll in the General Arts and Science Program at the college for the fall semester, with goals of a university transfer to a possible education degree in the future.
