April 4, 2023 – The month of March was an exciting time for Lethbridge College Kodiaks athletics, with many teams competing in their respective Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) championships. The month was filled with highs and lows as the Kodiaks battled it out on the biggest stage. Two student-athletes delivered big time performances when it mattered most. Cooper Williams (MIT) and Olivia DePasquale (WFUT) have been selected as the Kodiaks’ March Athletes of the Month, sponsored by Moxies’.
Williams (first year, Wind Turbine Technician, Cardston) finished out his season by doing what he does best - breaking records. Competing at the 2023 ACAC championships in Edmonton, he finished top four in the men’s 1500m while also setting a new Lethbridge College school record in the event. While Williams only raced in three indoor events at the championship, he managed to contribute an impressive 18 points to the team’s 83-point total, a key reason the Kodiaks claimed the championship title.
DePasquale (third year, Massage Therapy, Airdrie) led her team to a fourth-place finish at the 2023 ACAC Futsal championships in Fort McMurray. Her high-powered shot made her a dangerous offensive threat from everywhere on the court. DePasquale contributed big goals and strong defensive play throughout the tournament, especially in a huge semifinal win over TKU. She was honoured as a tournament all-star for her efforts.
Congrats to Cooper and Olivia on their Athlete of the Month selections!
