Bio

Todd Caughlin was named the Manager of Athletics and Recreation Services in 2014. 

When hired in 2014, Caughlin instituted the Three Pillars of Kodiaks Athletics – academic accountability, athletic excellence and the student-athlete experience. These three things are the heart of the Kodiak culture as Kodiak athletes are known for excelling on and off the playing field. 

As athletic director, Caughlin has been a part of 9 ACAC titles, 3 national champions (1 individual and 2 team), and is proud to have had over 40 CCAA Academic All Canadians and 9 CCAA All Canadians. 

In 2020, Caughlin was recognized as the ACAC Athletic Director of the Year for the 2019-2020 season.

Caughlin has been involved in athletics at many levels. A Fort McLeod native, Caughlin competed in men’s volleyball at both Lethbridge College and Red Deer College. Caughlin was assistant coach of the RDC Queens 1989-90 and 92-93 earning 1 ACAC gold and 2 trips to CCAA Nationals. Caughlin was the head coach of the Kodiaks men’s volleyball team from 1993-1997, earning the programs first national ranking and .500 record.  

From 1997-2001, Caughlin assistant coached at Cameron University (NCAA) where they won the first ever program title and two trips to nationals. From 2001-2009 Caughlin worked at St. Mary’s University (NCAA) in San Antonio both as the head coach of the women’s volleyball team and assistant athletic director - compliance. From 2010-2013 Caughlin was named head coach of Coker College (NCAA) where he led the team to their first playoffs appearance in program history. In 2012 Caughlin moved over to the men’s side where he helped build the Coker College men’s volleyball program. From 2013-2014 Caughlin worked as the assistant athletic director for compliance at Academy of Art University and helped transition the program from NAIA to NCAA Division II. 

Caughlin received a Recreational Services Diploma from Lethbridge College, a bachelor’s degree in organizational behaviour from Athabasca University, and a Master of Science in psychology and counselling from Cameron University. 

Caughlin is a NCPP Level II coach.
