Weekend Preview: Celebrate the 2023 class of the Kodiaks Hall of Fame
An action-packed weekend for the Lethbridge College Kodiaks teams.
In addition to an action-packed weekend for the Lethbridge College Kodiaks teams, the five newest members of the Kodiaks Hall of Fame will be inducted Friday night in the Val Matteotti Gymnasium.
The Kodiaks women’s and men’s basketball teams are at home and will face the Briercrest Clippers at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday, with the Hall of Fame ceremonies planned during each half-time of Friday night’s games.
The Kodiaks men’s and women’s volleyball teams are back on the road as they head to Saskatchewan to play Briercrest at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m, Friday, and noon and 2 p.m. Saturday.
The Kodiaks women’s and men’s futsal teams will wrap up the first south regional tournament with matches at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Medicine Hat College.

The women's basketball team is set on preserving its current eighth-place national ranking. facing Briercrest, who aims to end their four-game losing streak, the Kodiaks are looking to make an impact on both sides of the ball.
Hannah Helton (fifth year, Exercise Science, Okotoks), the Kodiaks Student-Athlete of the Week and back-to-back ACAC Player of the Game, has been an unwavering force on the court, averaging 18 points per game.

The men's basketball team has back-to-back games against the Briercrest Clippers and hope to separate themselves in the ACAC standings. Both teams currently share the same record of 6-5.
Over the break, the team added Drayden Walburger (first year, Business Administration Management, Magrath), Ty Lewis (second year, General Arts and Science, Cardston) and Brendon Redford (second year, General Arts and Science, Fruit Heights, Utah) to its roster. These new additions played a crucial role in the team's upset win over Red Deer Polytechnic Kings last weekend.

The women’s volleyball team is hoping to pick up some wins against a strong south division rival. These games will give the team an idea of what they will be up against as the Kodiaks host the ACAC women’s volleyball championships near the end of February.
The Kodiaks will need to execute a strong serve receive, led by their libero Reanna Gage (first year, Exercise Science, Hamiota, Man.). Briercrest, which currently leads the conference in aces, is expected to apply a lot of service pressure.

The men’s volleyball team has the opportunity to overtake Briercrest and the second-place spot in the south division this weekend. It will be a hard-fought match for the Kodiaks as the Clippers are ranked 11th in the country.
Kodiaks' setter Ben St. Pierre (third year, General Arts and Science, Red Deer) faces the task of running a highly efficient offense, which will be challenging as Briercrest stands out as one of the conference's top teams in terms of blocks per set.

The women’s futsal team is looking to hold onto the number two spot in the south division going into their next regional tournament.
The team will depend on the experience and leadership of veteran player Taylor Hrycun (fifth year, General Arts and Science, Edmonton) to navigate both the challenges of the match and the energetic atmosphere of the Snake Pit in Medicine Hat.

The men’s futsal team is looking to gather some momentum from these matches to take into its next regional tournament.
The first years on the roster are making a significant impact for the team, especially the B.C. duo of Ryder Skolka (first year, Business Administration, Nelson, B.C.), who netted three goals in a single game, and Jacob Marshall (first year, General Arts and Science, Nelson, B.C.), who contributed a crucial goal against last year's runner-up, SAIT.
